Research has shown that teaching and learning in the early years influences children’s learning and development in the future (Goodfellow, 2009; Otto, 2014). Due to these findings the Government, over the last two decades, has showed interest in developing the Early Childhood Education field through funding and regulation.
My question to you is should Early Childhood Education become free like state schooling in the near future? Whatever your answer, what are your reasons behind your decision and how do you think it will affect the ongoing learning and development of our children in the future?

Should early childhood education be free?
ReplyDeleteYes I believe that like in primary school there should be day care centres and early childhood education centres that are either fully or partly state funded. Because it is my opinion everyone has the right to have access to the advantages of early childhood education. Early childhood education exposes children to a range of different things that they probably wouldn’t get if they stayed at home, things like socialization, respect, teamwork, resilience, concentration, patience, it can also exposure them to diversity and also gets them use to the idea of separation from their parents. These teachings will help make the transition to primary school a little less stressful for both the parents and children.
